MCM 2024
Posted by W4LDJ on 2024-01-26 at 14:36Hello everyone.
I am new here and was wondering about the USMC marathon for 2024. I am sure that I am super early but I have never done it before and was wondering about sign-ups, how its done, and any other info from those who have done it before.

Welcome.
Scott @kn4rpa is our fearless MCM Ham Radio leader. I believe that this year we are hoping to open volunteer registration much earlier than in previous years. More information will come shortly.
Thanks so much for your interest, truly!

I am excited to see this soon – I just received an email from the Volunteer & Permit Coordinator about signing up, but I haven’t seen a HAM position just yet. 🤞

I received the same email. I too did not see HAM volunteer on the list.

Hi to all. Not sure if you have all signed up yet. Here is what you need to know. The signups are now open on both the MCMO and the Ham Volunteer sites. You need to, as in previous years, sign up on both.
Here are the two links you need.
- FIRST, sign up on MCMO at: https://marinemarathon.com/volunteer/
- SECOND, you go to: https://hamvolunteers.com and sign up there.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!!

I’m signed up as well as a first time MCM ARO volunteer. The operating plan indicates that there are a few areas that will require a 20’ antenna. Does anyone have recommendations? I have my Icom ID-52 and maybe a mast or tall antenna is not needed. Any guidance from the Elmers?
