    Gotta admit… I agree, mostly.

    I would say that amateur radio can, has, and may continue to play an important role in emergencies. There are serendipitous times where ‘the guy with the radio’ really helped out. During the Québec ice storms a few decades back, ham operators were the only form of local comms. These were pre cell phone days and the hard lines had gone down. I saw, first hand, what simplex could do (no repeater where I was). Unfortunately, and this is where I agree with you Lind, we tend to jump on the emergency bandwagon very quickly and often don’t really know what to do. I’ll give this some more thought and add more later.

Ham Community does not tolerate prejudice. We are all different, that's fine. Remember, duty and honor are built on respect. Use this reporting category sparingly and only if you are quite certain that the member is being openly and hurtfully prejudiced.
