    Are you lost?

    I’m curious to know how returning amateur radio operators feel about the overwhelming influx of new technology, including menu-driven rigs, digital modes, a plethora of software applications, and an explosion of amateur radio-related content on YouTube, social media, and even within Ham Community.

    Not particularly overwhelmed. I’m almost all of my operating is CW with a very rare op on SSB. Everything else is “that other stuff”.

    The greatest thing about ham radio is it’s the hobby with thousands of hobbies! You can never learn it all, so just pick and choose what interests you.

    I actually use ham radio to escape from all the high tech stuff in real life. Mostly analog QRP CW for me. I do have 2 digital rigs , but one’s display is morse code. The other is an 8 segment LED! All the others have a dial and a pointer in the front face of the rig.

    It gets harder and harder to find people just talking using CW without contests and numbers and websites, but we’re still out here having fun and waiting for you to join in!

Ham Community does not tolerate prejudice. We are all different, that's fine. Remember, duty and honor are built on respect. Use this reporting category sparingly and only if you are quite certain that the member is being openly and hurtfully prejudiced.
