    If your like me, you might have found this community because you enjoy engaging with 146.520. The full month of January there is a USA-wide activity (not contest) called Winterheat from hamactive.com. You just make simplex contacts on designated simplex frequencies. There are numerous but everything is within the technician privledges. Spin the VFO to 147.570 and call CQ Winterheat or just listen to see if it is active in your region. Very casual.

    I am not affiliated with hamactive. I just enjoy it and find it a fun pastime during long commutes. Lots more frequencies on 70cm, 6M, 1.25M, 33cm! Keeps those lesser used radios from drying up capacitors from lack of use!
